Luca and Olena, a family of three with two beloved dogs, wanted a home that reflected their values of efficiency, quality, and connection.
Their vision was a custom, energy-efficient, low-maintenance home that catered to their lifestyle, love of entertaining, and commitment to sustainability.
Luca and Olena dreamed of a modern home tailored to their unique needs and lifestyle. They envisioned a spacious and welcoming open-plan living area where family and friends could gather, complete with a kitchen, a large dining area, and a living room overlooking the alfresco and garden. They sought a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, with an alfresco area designed for entertaining, including a coffered ceiling, outdoor sink, BBQ, and a low-maintenance garden surrounding a heated swimming pool.
With their Italian background, specific features were essential, such as a bidet in the bathrooms, fully tiled bathrooms, and stone cladding around the house to add a touch of elegance. Their priority was a double-brick, energy-efficient design that minimized environmental impact while maximizing comfort and functionality.
The family had previously experienced challenges with standard project builders, feeling constrained by rigid designs and impersonal processes.
They were frustrated by a lack of flexibility and a failure to meet their expectations in their past experience. They needed a construction partner who could understand their specific vision, work collaboratively, and deliver an energy-efficient home built with care and attention to detail.
Additionally, they wanted a home designed for sustainability, using double-brick construction with insulation, double-glazed windows, solar panels, and a fully electric system to ensure long-term cost savings and reduced environmental impact.
Eco Homes Group collaborated closely with Luca and Olena to bring their vision to life. We began by understanding their needs during an in-depth consultation, ensuring every detail of the design reflected their lifestyle and preferences. The home was designed with double-brick construction and insulation in the cavity for superior thermal performance. Double-glazed windows and solar panels were incorporated for energy efficiency, making the house fully electric and reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.
Through our unique and transparent process of design and costing, Luca and Olena were able to make all their selections, including flooring, sanitaryware, and kitchen finishes, during the costing stage. This allowed us to price their choices accurately and ensure everything aligned with their budget.
To meet their desire for an open and connected space, we designed a generous living area with a kitchen, large dining area, and living room that opened to an alfresco area and the garden. The alfresco included a coffered ceiling, BBQ, and outdoor sink for hosting, while the heated pool and low-maintenance landscaping added an element of luxury and ease. Throughout the process, we maintained clear and open communication, ensuring Luca and Olena felt supported every step of the way.
The result
The completed home exceeded Luca and Olena’s expectations, delivering everything they had envisioned and more. The double-brick construction, combined with double-glazed windows and solar panels, created an energy-efficient environment that stays warm in winter and cool in summer with minimal need for heating or cooling. The open-plan living area is perfect for hosting family and friends, seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Because we followed our transparent process of design and costing, the construction was completed on budget and on time. The alfresco and garden have become the heart of the home, with the heated pool providing year-round enjoyment. Thanks to the thoughtful design and high-quality materials, Luca and Olena now enjoy a beautiful, sustainable, low-maintenance home that perfectly aligns with their values and lifestyle.
